Family Avenues Schools Partnership
Connecting Home, School and Understanding
Supporting a neurodivergent child is rarely the responsibility of one person. The best outcomes happen when schools and families share understanding, communicate well and work towards the same goals. Family Avenues provides specialist consultation, training and practical guidance to help make that happen.
The challenge
When everyone is trying — but things still aren’t working
Schools are under enormous pressure, and even committed staff can feel unsure how best to support a child whose anxiety, behaviour, attendance or sensory needs are affecting their ability to access education. Families may feel unheard, while schools may feel they have tried everything.
Behaviour & regulation
Understanding what may be driving distressed or challenging behaviour
Home-school relationships
Helping families and schools build trust and shared understanding
Reasonable adjustments
Identifying practical changes that can reduce barriers.
Attendance & EBSA
When anxiety and distress are making school difficult to access.
Our Approach
We look beyond the behaviour
Family Avenues helps the adults around the child understand what may be happening underneath the presenting difficulty. Rather than offering generic advice, we explore the individual child, their environment and the relationships around them to identify practical, realistic next steps.
